“Education should no longer be mostly imparting knowledge, but must take a new path, seeking the release of human potentials.”
Montessori education is an entirely new approach to education. Dr. Maria Montessori- coincidentally, the first female physician in Italy- built her educational methods on scientific observation of the child. Children are naturally eager to learn, and ready to take in all they can from a correctly prepared environment.
Learning happens through experiences. To learn, we need more than a book and a lecture. We need to use all five senses. We need to go at our own pace, and be free to explore our own interests and challenge ourselves. We should compete with ourselves, and not each other.
Learning is the process of discovery; Montessori builds independence, concentration and self-motivation. Each classroom is a community in which the children share their experiences and discoveries with each other. A teacher trained in the Montessori method will guide your child’s learning experience.
