Our primary classes are the modern Casa dei Bambini. The carefully crafted environment allows the child to absorb the impressions they need to turn into knowledge. Children crave independence; in a Montessori classroom, children select the work that appeals most to them and are allowed to work and learn at their own pace.

Our loving instructors are AMI and AMS trained, in the art of guiding children with the Montessori method. Students, ages three to five, are guided through Practical Life skills, Sensorial materials, Language and Mathematics.  Culture is incorporated in the Sensorial and Language materials through puzzle maps and labels, animal and habitat materials and labels.  Art is available every day in many different formats.  In our year-round program, children will learn from our growing gardens and experiencing food preparation in the classrooms.  

The final year of the primary program is the kindergarten year. The Montessori kindergarten year is the capstone of the Primary experience at Arcadia. Here, the students become leaders, sharing the lessons they’ve perfected with younger peers. With the Montessori materials, students practice reading, writing and math concepts. Our kindergarten students enjoy private piano lessons with our campus music instructor; by the end of the year, they’ll be reading sheet music and performing at their own piano recital.
